TechMap

History

  • The concept of the TechMap® originated in Ottawa and highlighted its homegrown technology companies. PricewaterhouseCoopers adopted the idea and expanded it to other regions of Canada. The TechMap® was adapted to become a ScienceMap® in Saskatoon by PricewaterhouseCoopers and then eventually developed into a visual website, ClusterMap® in 2000 (www.sciencemap.net).
  • Next generation website (www.albertahub.techmap.ca) was built based on the new interface design of the ClusterMap®

"They provide a crisp and concise pictorial of the cluster of knowledge based industries for our community, and has the potential to offer the same opportunity to other communities seeking to promote the critical mass of knowledge based industries in their region."
